Mary Finley

Mary Finley, 92, of Urbandale, Iowa, passed away August 19, 2011 at Mercy Medical Center. Mary was born November 18, 1918 in Louisville, Kentucky to Wilbur and Della Carter. She was very domestic and loved raising her children and grandchildren, cooking, gardening and spending time with friends. Mary was a devout Catholic. She remained very active and had a "spunky" spirit all of her life. Those left to cherish her memory and celebrate her life are her children, Barbara Wright, Larry (Ceil) Finley, Ron Finley, John (Alice) Finley and Debbie (Noel) Sesker; sisters, Idabelle Barrickman and Dorothy Fergus; 10 grandchildren and 15 great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her parents and her husband, John Finley. The family will greet friends from 6 to 7 p.m., Wednesday, August 24, 2011 at Griffin Leggett Healey & Roth Funeral Home, 5800 W 12th Street in Little Rock, with a rosary service at 7 p.m. Mary will be laid to rest next to her husband John at Calvary Cemetery in Little Rock, Arkansas at 10 a.m., Thursday, August 25, 2011.
