Jesse James "Jim" Patridge Jr.

Jesse James, "Jim," Patridge, Jr., age 85, of West Memphis, AR, passed away on Thursday, August 25, 2011. Mr. Patridge was born on January 2, 1926, in Elaine, AR. He was a WWII veteran serving in the Army Air Corps. Mr. Patridge graduated from the University of Arkansas with a degree in Civil Engineering. He was an active member of the First United Methodist Church in West Memphis, Ark. for 55 years. Mr. Patridge worked for the Corps of Engineers for 40 years and then retired as Chief of Construction and Operations. Subsequently, he was the Manager of the Flood Control Branch of the Associated General Contractors for nine years. He also served on the West Memphis Utility Commission. Mr. Patridge is survived by his wife of 65 years, Dotty Bumpers Patridge, and two children, Jim Patridge and wife, Ellen of Ft. Smith, Ark., and Bonnie Buntin and husband, Taylor, of Hernando, Mississippi. He also is survived by three grandchildren, Jennifer Patridge Walker, Clay Patridge, and Mary Elizabeth Buntin Kirkpatrick, and husband, Stephen, and three great-grandchildren. The visitation will be Saturday August 27th, 10 a.m. to 11 a.m. at First United Methodist Church, West Memphis, Ark. with the service following at 11 a.m. at First United Methodist Church, West Memphis, Ark. and interment following the service in Crittenden Memorial Park in Marion, Ark.
