Arnell Calhoun Morgan

Arnell Calhoun Morgan, 69, of Star City died Saturday at Gardner Nursing Center after a long battle with Supranuclear Palsy. She was born Sept. 12, 1941 in Relf's Bluff near Star City to the late Travis and Alva McKeown Calhoun. She was a member of Yorktown Free Will Baptist Church. She was employed by Bob Small Florist in Star City for many years until opening her own florist, Flowers by Arkay, where she worked until her health forced her to retire in 2005. She loved working with flowers and helping to make someone's day brighter. She was preceded in death by her husband, Roger Wallace Morgan, whom she married March 7, 1958; a sister, Mildred Millen; and two brothers, Harlan Calhoun, Shelby Calhoun. Survivors include two sons, Robert Morgan and wife Cindy, Ronald Morgan and wife Connie; daughter, Carolyn Morgan Cox and husband Bobby, all of Star City; six grandchildren, Tyler Morgan and wife Courtnie of Benton, Jordan Morgan, Skye Morgan, Blake Morgan, Christopher Cox, Katie Marie Cox; two brothers, Travis Calhoun of Houston, Texas, Treavor Calhoun of Warren; six sisters, Sue Chambliss, Joye Robertson, Laverne Carter, of Star City, Ann Woolley of Pine Bluff, Mary Lou Lawson of Wilmar, Eleanor Lockert of Little Rock; and many nieces, nephews and friends. Funeral services will be 10 a.m. Monday at Griffin Funeral Chapel in Star City. Bro. James Travis Calhoun and Bro. Carl Miller will officiate. Burial will be in Drake Cemetery. Pallbearers will be Jacob Blevins, Bobby Cox, Christopher Cox, Tyler Morgan, Blake Morgan, Jordan Morgan, Wayne Boren and John Reed. Arrangements by Griffin Funeral Service in Star City.
