Johnny Russell Brantley, 71, of Mount Vernon went to be with the Lord Sunday, Dec. 4 at Conway Regional Health System. He was born March 29, 1940 in Vilonia, Ark. to Raymond and Loleta (Carmichael) Brantley. Johnny was preceded in death by his wife Betty Lou; his father, Raymond Brantley; brother, Jimmy Brantley; two grandsons, Michael Lee, and Johnathan (Konkel) Kuykendall. Johnny is survived by his mother Loleta (Carmichael) Sams; his children, Susie Bryant and husband Michael of Adona, Ark., Jimmy Brantley and wife, Paula of Mount Vernon, Wendy Hensley of Mount Vernon; and Debbie Greer all of Vilonia, Maria Chism of Morrilton, Ark., Angel VonKraus and husband Stan of Little Rock; one brother, David Brantley of Rogers, Ark.; three sisters, Marilyn Crider of Mayflower, and Carolyn Wall of Conway, Shellia Jarvis of Enola, Ark.; 16 grandchildren, and 14 great-grandchildren. Johnny loved his family dearly and warm sunny days. He enjoyed hunting and loved his little dog, Baby. Johnny especially looked forward to his daily talks with his Momma. He also loved collecting tractors and making jokes, that was just expected from all of us. Funeral services will be 1 p.m. Friday, Dec. 9, 2011 at Roller-McNutt Funeral Home, Conway (501-327-7727), with burial following at Cadron Valley Cemetery.
