James Vernon Geater

James Vernon Geater, 72, died Friday. Mr. Geater was born Nov. 11, 1938, in Wheatley, Ark., to Neally and Katie Coffey Geater. He was a retired supervisor at Riceland Foods and member of Stuttgart Church of Christ. Besides his parents, he was preceded in death by a sister, Linda Geater; and one brother, J.D. Geater. Survivors are his wife of 51 years, Dorothy Whitley Geater; two sons, John Taylor of Stuttgart and Ken Geater of Austin, Texas; six brothers, Don Geater of Indiana, Keith Geater of Heber Springs, Bill Geater of Brinkley and Ed Geater, Kenneth Geater and Jerry Geater of Stuttgart; and three grandchildren. Funeral services, officiated by Bro. Don Spangler, are 10 a.m. Monday at Stuttgart Church of Christ. Burial will military honors will follow in Lone Tree Cemetery by Turpin Funeral Home.
