E. Ralph Raney

E. Ralph Raney, 80, of Searcy, died Sunday, January 9, 2011. He was born June 1, 1930 in Smithville, Arkansas to the late Joseph and Jannie Rudy Raney. Mr. Raney worked for Industrial Aviation in Denver, Colorado until moving to Cottonwood, Arizona in 1977 where he owned and operated Cottonwood Shoes until his retirement in March 2004. He was a member of Trinity Baptist Church in Searcy and is preceded in death by his parents; one brother, Byron Raney; two sisters, Shirley Lesher and Sara Raney. Survivors include his wife of almost 62 years, Francis Marion Walling Raney; two children, Roger Lee Raney of Sedona, Ariz.; Pamela Diane Raney of Grand Lake, Colo.; one brother, Harry Raney of Searcy; three sisters, Nina Bodin of Jonesboro; Kitty Daniels of Dallas, Texas; Wilma Johnson of Carmichael, Calif.; six grandchildren; four great-grandchildren. Visitation will be held 10 a.m., Thursday, January 13, 2011 at Roller-Daniel Funeral Home Chapel with service following at 11 a.m. Graveside service will be 3 p.m., Thursday at Smithville Cemetery in Smithville, Arkansas.
