Martha Jean Golden Farrell

Martha Jean Golden Farrell passed away Saturday, January 8, 2011. She was born April 10, 1952 and lived her entire life in Lee County. She was preceded in death by her mother Eunice Golden. She is survived by her father, Franklin "Buck" Golden of Gill and an aunt, Lois Turpin of Forrest City. She was a member of the Wall Chapel Missionary Baptist Church. After graduating from Lee Senior High in Marianna in 1970 she attended Crowley's Ridge Technical Institute in Forrest City. In March of 1973 she started a 37-year career as secretary-receptionist at radio stations kxjk-kbfc. She will be missed by family, co-workers, and thousands of friends who talked to her each time they called in. Graveside services were held Sunday, January 9 at 4 p.m. at the Hopewell Cemetery in Gill. Stevens Funeral Home in Forrest City is in charge of arrangements.
