James Lynn Larkin

James Lynn Larkin, 82, of Hot Springs Village, Ark., ceased his valiant fight with cancer on Thursday, January 20, 2011. Jim was born June 2, 1928 in Bonne Terre, Mo. Jim was a loving husband, father, grandfather, great-grandfather, friend and patriot serving his country as a member of the US Navy. He attended Washington University graduating with a degree in civil engineering. He worked 34 years with the Marley Cooling Tower Company, retiring to HSV, Arkansas in 1986. Jim married Fay, his wife, on Sept. 1, 1950 enjoying 60 years of life together. They raised three children. Jim enjoyed his family, his home, golf, yard work, stain glass work and swimming. Jim is survived by his wife Fay, son, Jim and wife Christine Larkin, grandchildren Nathan and Rachel, daughter Lynn Latham, grandchildren, Stephen and wife Mallory Latham and great grand-son, Luke, granddaughter, Elizabeth and husband Jordan Brazeal, and grandson, David Latham; son Chris and wife Cissy Larkin. Celebration of Life Services will be on January 23, 2011 from 1-4 p.m. at 5 Nina Trace, HSV. Arrangements are under the direction of CedarVale Funeral Home (501) 922-6100.
