Olene Jackson Whitley

OLENE JACKSON WHITLEY, 83, of North Little Rock passed away, Wednesday, Jan. 20, 2011. Olene was born to the late Orville and Opal Pinkston Jackson in Grange, Ark. Olene was preceded in death by her parents; her husband of 41 years; her sweetheart and the love of her life Grover C. Whitley; a brother, John Lloyd Jackson; sister, Betty Sue Hamrick; step-son, Harold C. Whitley. Olene retired after 32 years in the banking business with Worthen Bank. Olene was a member of the Second Baptist Church in Jacksonville. She was a loving and caring person she will be missed by all that knew her. She is survived by her grandson and caretaker, John (Carolynn) Whitley; daughter-in-law, Virginia Whitley; great-granddaughters, Sarah (Ron) Jetton, their son, Dirk Montgomery and Amber Whitley; great-grandson, Joshua Whitley; brothers, William (Ima) Jackson and Jerry (Martha) Jackson; and her sweet baby sister, Mary Lou Franks; grandsons, David (Jeana) Whitley and Robert (Vicki) Whitley; granddaughters, Maggie (David) McClellan and Debbie Vinsett. Funeral service will be at 11 a.m., Monday, Jan. 24, 2011 at Roller-Owens Funeral Home Chapel (501-791-7400) with Reverend Greg Rozenski officiating. Pallbearers, John Whitley, David Whitley, Robert Whitley, Keith Whitley, David McClellan, and Micah McClellan. Honorary Pallbearers, Ricky Williford, Mike Williford, DeWayne Williford and Debora Hanks. Interment will follow at Chapel Hill Memorial Park in Jacksonville, Ark. The family will receive friends from 2-4 p.m., Sunday, Jan. 23, at the funeral home.
