Robin Howard Hagaman

Robin Howard Hagaman, 77, of Prines Lane East Lake near Holly Grove and Clarendon, and formerly of Stuttgart, died Jan. 20 at St. Bernards Phil and Flo Jones Hospice House in Jonesboro. Preceding him in death were his mother, Bobbye Hagaman; father, Howard Hagaman and sister Paula Hagaman. Survivors are his brother, Marvin Hagaman (Mary); foster son, Tim Leach; nephews and nieces Charles Hoskyn (Margaret), Patti Whitehurst (David), Mike Hagaman (Kelly), Cathelene Arnold and Michelle Barber (Chris). He is also survived by five great-nieces and nine great-nephews. Robin graduated from Stuttgart High School in 1950 and entered Arkansas State College Jonesboro at age 17. After 1½ years at ASU he spent four years in the Air Force and returned to ASU. He was a founding member of Tau Kappa Epsilon Fraternity and served as President. He graduated from ASU in 1958 with a major in Accounting. After working with the Federal Land Bank of St. Louis for several years he attended George Washington University and obtained a Masters Degree in Hospital Administration. He was Administrator of Suburban and Prince Georges County Hospitals in Maryland before returning to Arkansas as administrator of Baptist Rehab Center in Little Rock until his retirement. His love of history and enjoyment in collecting unusual things led him to open East Lake Unlimited Antiques in Brinkley. He was an avid supporter of Arkansas State University following Indians and now Red Wolves athletics teams. He also provided an endowed scholarship program for high school graduates of Arkansas and Monroe counties with one stipulation - they must attend Arkansas State University. He was an active Baptist all his life serving as a deacon and teaching Sunday school. He is presently a member of Clarendon First Baptist Church. Funeral services will be 10 a.m. Wednesday at Turpin Funeral Home in Stuttgart with burial in Mt. Zion Presbyterian Cemetery.
