Paul F. Hogan

Paul F. Hogan, 93, of Russellville, AR, died Saturday, January 22, 2011 at Russellville. The son of B.G. and Etta Fiddler Hogan, he was born July 10, 1917 in Vilonia. Paul was a 1936 graduate of Vilonia High School and a 1938 graduate of Arkansas Tech University. He joined the United States Army in 1942 and retired at the rank of Major in 1962. Paul served in the European Theatre of Operations during World War II, landing at Omaha Beach on D-17. He and L'Orene Rackley were married on February 8, 1941 at Pottsville. Paul worked for the employment security division in Russellville for 15 years and then for AVI, Val-Mac, Tasty Bird, and later, Tyson Foods. He preached for many years in congregations of the Churches of Christ throughout the Arkansas River Valley. He was preceded in death by his wife and a brother. Survivors include a son, Robert Michael Hogan and wife Anna Meng, Honolulu, Hawaii; a daughter, Maria Jan Hogan Hill and husband, Truman, Russellville; grandchildren and their spouses, Paul C. Hogan and Siri, Honolulu, HI, Alice Ann Calhoun and Rob, St. Michaels, Md., Nancy Dyer and Andre, Little Rock; two great-grandchildren. Funeral will be at 1:30 p.m., Wednesday, January 26, 2011 at Humphrey Chapel. Burial with full military honors will be at Rest Haven Memorial Park in Russellville by Humphrey Funeral Service.
