James Glenn Ferguson

James Glenn Ferguson, 91, of Lonoke, died Friday, Jan. 28, 2011 at the Lonoke Nursing and Rehabilitation Center in Lonoke, Ark. He was born Sept. 1, 1919 in Fort Scott, Kan. to James and Ethel (Briggs) Ferguson. He married Ruth Eileen Brooks of Hume, Mo. on May 26, 1942 in Nevada, Mo. Jimmie was inducted into the U.S. Navy in 1944 and received his honorable discharge in 1946 as a Motor Machinist's Mate 3rd Class. Jimmie and Ruth lived for a short time in Vallejo, Calif., then moved to North Little Rock, Ark., where he worked 33 years for Union Pacific Railroad as a machinist, and retired as an inspector in 1980. Jimmie was a devoted husband. He and Ruth were best friends for almost 67 years. They enjoyed traveling, dancing, and many other common interests together. Jimmie was preceded in death by his wife, Ruth Ferguson, on April 9, 2009. He is survived by a nephew, Ed Brooks and his wife Linda, and 2 nieces, Clarenita Brack and her husband John, and Linda Garrison and her husband Michael. He is also survived by many great-nieces and great-nephews. Visitation will be held from 5 to 7 p.m. Monday at North Little Rock Funeral Home, North Little Rock, Ark.
