Lonzo "Lon" Morris Jr., 66, of Batesville died Wednesday, July 13, 2011 at White River Medical Center in Batesville. He was born March 6, 1945 in Batesville and was the son of Lonzo H. Morris, Sr. and Ora Mary Edwards Morris. Lon graduated from Batesville High School in 1963 and attended Arkansas College. He was a licensed realtor, real estate appraiser, and a past recipient of the Realtor of the Year award. He was a lifelong member of Central Avenue United Methodist Church. He is survived by his wife, Theresa Jones Morris of Batesville; two daughters, Melanie McAnally of Batesville and Alecia Sampley of Bossier City, Louisiana; two grandchildren, Jesse Sampley and Jacob Sampley, both of Bossier City; a sister, Mary Ellen Olson of Chapel Hill, North Carolina; nephews, Ian Olson, Andrew Olson, and Ryan Jones; nieces, Robyn Jones and Sharla Huskey; and great-nephew, Kaleb Huskey. He was preceded in death by his parents; and a nephew, Matthew Thorne. Funeral services will be at 10 a.m, Monday, July 18 at Central Avenue United Church in Batesville officiated by Rev. Paul Seay. Burial will be in Alderbrook Cemetery at Desha by Roller-Crouch Funeral Home of Batesville. Pallbearers are Donald Boles, Pete Musgrave, Gordon Harmon, Mike Hill, Charlie Morris, Jim Buchanan, and Bob Stroud. Honorary Pallbearers are Gary Ennis, Rick Black, Jerry Swaims, Bob Morris, Dr. Robert Walton, and Dr. Ted Shields. Visitation is from 3-6 p.m., Sunday, July 17 at the funeral home.
