Archie Lee Johnson

Archie Lee Johnson, 68, of Pangburn, died Sunday, June 6, 2011. He is survived by his wife, Louise; a son, Daniel Johnson (Jennifer); a daughter, Stacey Hensley (Tommy); grandsons, Dillon and John Hensley and Archer Johnson; a sister, Earlene Melton of Kennett, Missouri; two brothers, J.D. Johnson (Betty) of Black Rock and Carl Johnson (Barabara) of Paragould; and many other family members and friends. He is preceded in death by his daughter, Leslie Johnson; his parents, Earl and Ruby Johnson; and two brothers, James and Ray Johnson. Archie was a member of First Christian Church, where he served as a deacon. He served eight years in the U. S. Air Force, and joined the Searcy Police Department in 1971. He retired as a sergeant in 1995. He loved hunting and fishing, but mostly loved his family. His three grandsons were his pride and joy. The family requests memorials be made to the First Christian Church and the Stirrups and Smiles organization. Funeral services will be Wednesday at 10 a.m. at the Powell Funeral Home Chapel of Searcy. Visitation will be Tuesday from 6 to 8 p.m. www.powellfuneralhome.net.
