James Ross Cruce

James Ross Cruce of Lonoke died June 5, 2011. He was born March 6, 1925 to the late Pryor and Alma Cruce. Jim was an active member of Palm Street Church of Christ for 52 years where he served as an elder. He was owner of Lonoke Parts and Equipment Company for 30 years. He is remembered by many for his weekly visits to the nursing home. He loved visiting with the residents and they enjoyed him. He also served in the Navy during World War II. Survivors include one son Greg (Karen) Cruce of Springdale, daughters Phyllis (Larry) Cash of Lonoke and Jan (Danny) Hazelwood of Pine Bluff, six grandchildren, Scott (Tonya) Cash, Tammy (Anthony) Ponder, Ashley (Noah) Rabb, Stuart (Dylana) Cash, Amy Graham and Hunter Cruce and 11 great-grandchildren. He is preceded in death by Sammye McKinley Cruce, wife of over 60 years, and Oza Belle Knox Cruce, wife of one year, a sister Sallie Lee Caviness and a brother Pryor Reed Cruce. Funeral Services will be at 10:30 a.m., Wednesday, June 8 at Lonoke Palm St. Church of Christ. The family will receive friends Tuesday from 6-8 p.m. at the funeral home. Interment will follow in Lonoke Cemetery, arrangements by Boyd Funeral Home, Lonoke. Memorials may be made to Palm St Church of Christ. Online guest book, www.boydfuneralhome.net.
