Nathaniel Brown

Nathaniel Brown, age 85, of North Little Rock, passed Friday. He was preceded in death by his parents, John and Willie Mae Brown; sister, Olivia (Thomas) Pullen; and son, Wayman Noel Brown. Mr. Brown received his under graduate degree from Philander Smith College and Masters Degree from the University of Arkansas. He taught in the North Little Rock School District for 29 years, Lincoln Elementary and 7th St. Elementary. He educated and Mentored hundreds of children, coached Gray-y football for Lincoln, Supervised Sherman Park Swimming Pool for 10 years, coached Girls Softball for Sherman Park Recreation Center and was a past leader at Bethel A.M.E Church. He is survived by his wife, Manie Franklin Brown; one son, Courtney (Henrietta) Brown of North Little Rock; two nieces, Angelique Pullen of Atlanta, Ga. and Augustine (Johnnie) McBurrows of Douglasville, Ga. Funeral: 11 a.m., Thursday, Bethel A.M.E. Church, 600 Cedar, North Little Rock. Interment: Arkansas Memorial Gardens. Family hour: 6-7 p.m., Wednesday.
