Navy Petty Officer 1st Class Philomena L. Roberts of D'iberville, Mississippi sunrise May 24th, 1967 and sunset June 1st, 2011. She was a Logistic Specialist with the 20th Seabee Rediness Group in Glfport, Mississippi at the time of her death. Philomena joined the Navy on October 7th, 1997. She served on the USS Merrimack and the USS Nimity. During her service years she had been stationed at the Naval Air Facility Mirdenhall in England; the center of Combat Learning Site in Norfolk, Virginia; and the Naval Specialty Warfare Group 3 in Little Creek, Virginia. Philomena was a 1985 graduate of North Pulaski High School, Jacksonville, Arkansas, and attended UCA, in Conway, Arkansas. She was a warrior and a proud member of the U.S. Navy. She was a friend, mother, sister and aunt. She was a member of the Little Rock, Baptist Church, Gulfport, Mississippi. Philomena leaves to cherish the memboires of her life to her husband, T.E. Roberts: a son, Philip Branden, a sister, Jackie Bush (East Spencer, N.C.), two brothers; Erik and William Jr., her parents Eva and William Sr., her grandmother Ruth, five aunts, Sadie (New JerseyJ), Mary (North Carolina), Diane (Dan) (North Carolina), Linda (Washington D.C.), Bethenia (Lee) (Maryland), seven uncles: Franklin (Christine) (North Carolina), Arnold (Margie) (North Carolina), Hew Lee (Connecticut), Ralph (Pearl) (Michigan), Cleophas (Eura) (New JerseyJ), Samuel (NC), and Leroy (Doris) (Tennessee), and a host of nieces, nephews other relatives and friends. Philomena loved to ride horses. She also has left behind four dogs that she loved and they loved her dearly as we all did. Visitation will be held from 6-8 p.m. on Wednesday, June 8th, 2011at Griffin Leggett Rest Hills Funeral Home 7724 Landers Road, North Little Rock, Arkansas 72117 (501) 835-3515. Funeral services will be held at 2 p.m. on Thursday, June 9th, 2011 at Griffin Leggett Rest Hills Chapel with interment will be at the Arkansas State Veterans Cemetery on Friday, June 10th, 2011 at 11 a.. The family has requested NO flowers and instead please make a pledge or donation to the Susan G. Komen Cancer Foundation in Philomena L. Roberts memory.
