Thomas Reuben Patrick

Thomas Reuben Patrick, age 79, of Monticello passed away Thursday, June 9, 2011 at the VA Hospital in Little Rock. He was born December 15, 1931 in New Edinburg, Texas. He was preceded in death by his foster parents, Thomas Reuben and Martha W. Daugherty Patrick and his wife, Dorothy Jean McManus Patrick. He was retired from War Eagle Boats after 45 years of service and was of the Nazarene faith. He was a veteran of the Korean War serving in the U.S. Army as a paratrooper where he received many awards including The Purple Heart, Combat Infantry Badge, United Nations Service Medal, National Defense Service Medal, Army Parachute Badge, Korean Service Metal, and two bronze service battle stars. He was a member of the VFW, American Legion, was an avid hunter and fisherman and loved NASCAR racing. Survivors include; three sons, Thomas Reuben Patrick, Jr. of Alexander, Wilson Luke Patrick of Monticello and Emmett Darien Patrick of the Valley community; two daughters, Annette Patrick of Ladelle and Martha Jean Patrick Cress of Monticello; fourteen grandchildren, Michelle, Desirae, Angela, Michael, Richard, Nathan, Kevin, Ray, Jason, Max, Diana, Chris, Ashley and Gage and fourteen great-grandchildren. Funeral services will be 3 p.m. Sunday at Stephenson-Dearman Chapel with burial to follow in Ladelle Cemetery with Military Honors. Visitation will be 6-8 Saturday.
