Dixie Marie Land Marbury, 85, of Benton passed away Tuesday, June 14, 2011 at Arkansas Heart Hospital. She was born January 16, 1926 in Benton to the late Rufus Alfred Land and Marie Tibbles Land. Mrs. Marbury retired from the Little Rock V.A. Hospital. She grew up in the First Baptist Church in Benton where she remained a life-long active member. She was always active in the Baptist Church Women's Missionary Union, even when living in Hawaii and Japan. She was a treasurer of National Association Retired Employees. Mrs. Marbury's husband, Ret. Lt. Col. Crawford T. Marbury of Arkadelphia and her step-mom, Enid Wright Land preceded her in death. She is survived by two sons, James Mike Marbury of Benton and Dr. Thomas Crawford Marbury and wife Barbara of Orlando, Fla.; one daughter, Nancy Gail Smith and husband Dr. Sam Smith of Little Rock, and six grandchildren, Tommy Marbury and Laura Luk both of New York City, Daniel Marbury and Shelby Marbury both of Orlando, Fla., and Conor and Carson Smith, both of Little Rock. Funeral service will be held at 10 a.m. Saturday, June 18, 2011 in the chapel of Roller-Ballard Funeral Home (315-4047) with Dr. Rick Grant officiating. Interment will follow in Pinecrest Memorial Park in Alexander. Visitation will be held from 6 to 8 p.m., Friday evening June 17th at the funeral home.
