J.B. McCormack

J.B. McCormack, son of the late William J. McCormack and Jirda E. Hall McCormack, was born June 22, 1925 in Calico Rock, Arkansas. He departed this life on June 9, 2011 in Calico Rock, Arkansas at the age of 85 years, 11 months and 18 days. He was united in marriage to Betty Jo Williamson on October 4, 1947 and to this union, four children were born. She preceded him in death on July 28, 2005. He was a life long resident of Izard County. During his working years, he was a railroad executive employed by Missouri - Pacific Railroad and Union Pacific Railroad; retiring after forty-two years of employment. On May 11, 2007 he married Mondalyn Caldwell. He was of the Methodist faith and a long time member of the Calico Rock United Methodist Church. He is survived by his wife: Mondalyn McCormack of Calico Rock; two sons: Dr. John McCormack and wife Sylvia of West Plains, Missouri and Joe McCormack and wife Sharon of Sherwood, Arkansas; one daughter: Kathy Schmelder and husband Bill of Omaha, Nebraska; one daughter-in-law: Lindy McCormack of Clinton, Arkansas; 10 grandchildren: Heather Byrd and husband Andrew of St. Louis, Missouri, Megan York and husband Nathan of West Plains, Missouri, Caitlin McCormack of Columbia, Missouri, Jessica Schmelder of Des Moines, Iowa, Casey Schmelder of Columbia, Missouri, Taylor Schmelder of Omaha, Nebraska, Jeremy McCormack of Clinton, Sarah White and husband Zach of Heber Springs, Brandi McCormack of Sherwood and Joseph McCormack of Sherwood; one great-granddaughter: Willow Byrd of St. Louis, Missouri; and a host of other relatives and many good friends. He was preceded in death by his parents; his first wife: Betty Jo McCormack; one son: Steve McCormack; three brothers: Donon McCormack, Elza McCormack, and Bill McCormack; one sister: Mamie Ross and one infant sister. Funeral service was held Monday, June 13 at 10 a.m. at the United Methodist Church in Calico Rock with Mike Smith and Wayne Wood officiating. Burial at Staggs Cemetery under the direction of Eddie's Family Funeral Home in Calico Rock. Memorials may be made to: United Methodist Building Fund, P.O.
