Bennie Pritchett Sharp, 81, passed away peacefully on Wednesday, June 1st in Ft. Lauderdale, Florida. She was preceded in death by her husband of 45 years, Edgar Bill Sharp, and her sister, Faye Harris. Bennie is survived by her four children, Debe Sharp Jones (Terry) of Covington, La., Bill Sharp of Douglasville, Ga., Suzanne Sharp of Ft. Lauderdale, Fla. and Bryan Sharp of Covington, La. She is also survived by three grandchildren, Winston Patterson, Jacqueline Jones and Ben Jones (Heather) and one great-grandson, Nathan Sheldon Jones. Bennie is also survived by her sisters Hellon Anne Arruda and Betty Jo Gorman, as well as her brother Robert M. Pritchett and many nieces and nephews. Born in Little Rock, Arkansas in 1929, Bennie was the daughter of the late R. Benjamin & Lois Edith Pritchett. She attended Mt. St. Mary Academy, graduating in 1948. An avid tennis player and volunteer for the American Red Cross in Little Rock, Bennie also worked many years as a medical transcriptionist for Ochsner Clinic & East Jefferson General Hospital in New Orleans and Doctor's Hospital in Little Rock, Arkansas.
