Gertrude Reed Rowlands

Gertrude Reed Rowlands, 94, of Hot Springs Village, Ark., passed away at her home on June 15, 2011. The daughter of Albert and Hattie Hogins Reed, she was born on February 10, 1917 in Hector, Ark. She was preceded in death by her husband, Clyde Rowlands; her parents; and eight siblings. She is survived by her son, Don R. Rowlands of Hot Springs Village, Ark.; one sister, Flo Reed Brackman of Prescott, Ark.; five nephews, Tom (Bernice) Bullock of Shreveport, La., Lee (Sue) Hubbard and Don Hubbard, all of Santa Monica, Calif., Lissa (Gaylon) Teal of Atkins, Ark. and Linda (Jimmy) Graham of Prescott, Ark., Terry (Carrie) Templeton of Memphis, Tenn., Rodney (Laura) Templeton of Atlanta, Ga., Sue Carol (Bill) Brunner of Fayetteville, Ark., Gary Rowlands and family of Russellville, Ark., Janie Chambers of Fayetteville, Ark., Don R. Rowlands and family of Hector, Ark.; and several great-nieces and great-nephews. She lived in both EL Cerrito and Long Beach, Calif. and was an accounts manager with Bank of America for over 30 years before her retirement. She was a gifted pianist and organist, having played for various churches and numerous funeral services during her life-long service to the Lord. Funeral Services will be held at 3pm on June 18, 2011, at Humphrey Funeral Service in Russellville, Ark. Burial will follow at Oakland Cemetery in Russellville, Ark.
