William B. "Bill" Allen

William B. "Bill" Allen passed away on Tuesday, June 14, 2011. He was born March 9, 1925 to William and Lorene Allen in Little Rock, Arkansas. Bill was educated in the Little Rock School System and entered the military service after graduation, serving in the United States Navy during World War II and the Korean conflict. He was manager of the Floyd Payne Company for over twenty years prior to joining Fox Brothers Company in 1973, where he was employed as a Sales Representative. In 1986, Bill was elected Potentate of the Scimitar Shrine Temple. He was a Past Master of Pulaski Heights Lodge #673 and served as District Deputy Grand Master in 1974-75. He was a member of the York Rite Bodies, Scottish Rite Bodies, Royal Order of Jesters Court 12, Bendemeer Grotto and was a Past President of Scimitar Oriental Band. He served on the Grand Lodge Youth and Scholarship Board and was a recipient of the DeMolay Legion of Honor. Bill was one of those individuals who attracted a crowd where he went with his humor, sarcasm and charm. He loved the outdoors, especially fishing trips to Alaska with his dear friend Bob Shoptaw. Bill is survived by his wife of 46 years, Sharon K. (Connally) Allen, mother-in-law. Tina Walker of Danville, sisters-in-law. Susan Duffield (Ronnie) of Russellville and Carla Hill (Steve) of Tulsa, brother-in-law. Robert McMullen (Kay) of Dardanelle, nephews. Matthew Duffield and Robbie McMullen, niece. Stephanie Guidroz, several great-nieces, nephews and godchildren, along with a very large group of wonderful friends he also considered family. Services will be held at 2 p.m. on Monday, June 20 at St. Margaret's Episcopal Church at 20900 Chenal Parkway in Little Rock with a reception and celebration of life to immediately follow at the church.
