Willie James Hightower 88 of Greenbrier died June 25, 2011. Willie was born June 15, 1923 in Greenbrier, Arkansas to Jessie Lee Hightower and Myrtle Mills Hightower. He worked for Nabholz Construction as a Job superintendent for 40 years and a Cattle Farmer. Willie was a member of Needs Creek Baptist Church. Willie was preceded in death by his wife of 66 years, Ruby Estelle Hightower, daughter, Shirley Hjelden, and father and mother, brothers, Shelby Hightower and Kenneth Hightower and sister, Francis McCarty. He is survived by his children, Larry and Linda Hightower of Greenbrier, Arkansas, Sandra Cates and Bill of Conway, Arkansas brother, Billy Ray Hightower of Conway, Arkansas, and seven grandchildren, 19 great-grandchildren and seven great-great-grandchildren, several nieces and nephews and a host of friends. Pallbearers will be Mike Elrod, Mike Elrod Jr., Jacob Reynolds, Jimmy Weldon, Melvin Hightower, and Daniel Hightower and honorary pallbearer, Rick Reynolds. Visitation will be Tuesday, June 28, 2011 from 6-8 p.m. at Bishop-Griffin Funeral Home. Funeral services will be Wednesday June 29, 2011 at 2 p.m. at Needs Creek Baptist Church in Greenbrier, with brother Patrick Hughes and Brother Myron Millholland officiating.
