Andrew F. Seiter

Andrew F. "Andy" Seiter, 83 of Conway, passed away Thursday, March 3, 2011. Mr. Seiter was born in Scranton, Ark. in Logan County on March 6, 1927 to the late William and Crescentia (Newman) Seiter. Mr. Seiter will be remembered as a loving husband, father and grandfather who enjoyed gardening, fishing and hunting. He attended Subiaco Academy, served twenty years with the Arkansas National Guard, was a member of St. Joseph Catholic Church, a charter member of the Conway Council of the Knights of Columbus, the Catholic Financial Life and the Shaw Deer Camp of Quitman. He was a self employed home builder. He was also preceded in death by his first wife, the mother of his children, Catherine Lienhart Seiter and siblings: Betty Bregg, Genny Gehrki and Martin Seiter. Survivors include his wife of 23 years, Olena (Battles) Seiter; sons: Mark Seiter and wife Terri of Conway and Malcolm Seiter and wife Kim of Conway; daughters: Marian Chronister and husband Bobby of Russellville, Melinda Kordsmeier and husband David of Conway, Margie Lercher and husband Tom of Beebe and Andrea Seiter of Russellville. Also surviving are 14 grandchildren; three great-grandchildren; three step-sons; four step-grandchildren; five step-great-grandchildren; and siblings: Ann Lux, Mary Mammoser, Herman Seiter and Mildred Maxwell. The Mass of Christian burial will be held at 10:00 am, Monday, March 7, at St Joseph Catholic Church. Burial will take place at St. Joseph Cemetery with Adam Seiter, C.J. Kordsmeier, Clark Kordsmeier, Luke Kordsmeier, Matthew Lercher, Ray Hardy and Wayne Hardy serving as pallbearers. Honorary pallbearers are Justin Seiter, Scott Rodgers and Andrew Nettles.
