PETER FRANCIS O'CONNELL "MR. PETE," 79, Jacksonville, passed away Tuesday, March 1, 2011. He was born July 20, 1931 in Boston, Mass. to Peter F. and Mary Duffy O'Connell. He was a member of Park Hill Baptist Church. Peter retired from the United States Air Force after 20 years, worked maintenance for Park Hill Baptist Church, Jacksonville Middle School, and Liberty Baptist Church, Hampton, Va. He is survived by his wife of 55 years, Doris Bourrassau O'Connell; son, Peter Francis O'Connell and wife, Margaret, of Jacksonville; grandchildren, Captain Timothy Francis O'Connell and wife, Mary-Phillip, Kristen O'Connell and Megan O'Connell all of Jacksonville, Katherine Elizabeth Allen and Kris, of Conway; one brother; three sisters of Boston; and several nieces and nephews. Memorials may be made to Park Hill Baptist Church, 201 East C Street, North Little Rock, Ark. 72116. Funeral services will be held at 11:30 a.m. Monday at Park Hill Baptist Church. Burial will be in Arkansas State Veterans Cemetery. The family will receive friends from 3 to 5 p.m. Sunday at North Little Rock Funeral Home, 1921 Main, 758-1170.
