Daisy Lee Akins

Daisy Lee Akins was born to William and Cornelia Nicholson near Warren on Feb. 4, 1917. She was one of 10 children. A long time resident of Dumas, Daisy lived the last 30 years in Fort Smith. She was predeceased by son Jimmy Akins and infant daughter Susan Akins. Survivors include son Roger Akins (Donna) of Sherwood; daughter Jackie Hallman of Eudora; daughter-in-law Carolyn Akins of White Hall; son Ricky Akins of Pine Bluff; daughter Phyllis Stephens (Jim) and son Nick Akins (Judy) of Fort Smith; 13 grandchildren, 19 great-grandchildren, and two great-great-grandchildren and sister Birdie Beaty of Pine Bluff. Funeral will be held graveside at Cypress Memorial Gardens in Pine Bluff Monday, March 7 at 1 p.m. Grandsons are honorary pallbearers.
