Lawrence Wayne Kauffeld

Lawrence Wayne Kauffeld, age 85, of Little Rock died March 9, 2011 from complications of Alzheimer's disease. Mr. Kauffeld was born in Clarksville, Arkansas on December 17, 1925 to Fred A. Kauffeld and Ophelia Jacobs Kauffeld. On January 14, 1954 he married the former Ethelda Collins of Hindsville, Arkansas. He was a veteran of World War II in the Army Air Corps serving as an airplane and engine mechanic (Crew Chief). Also, he was employed in the trucking industry for forty years before retiring. He was an avid outdoorsman and was extremely devoted to his family. He was a member of Heritage Baptist Temple of Little Rock. He was preceded in death by his parents, two infant brothers and two children, Cinda Sue Kauffeld and Donald Alan Kauffeld. Survivors include his wife of 57 years, Ethelda Kauffeld of the home, two sons, Daniel (Maureen) Kauffeld of Little Rock, Arkansas, David (Nancy) Kauffeld of Beebe, Arkansas, two daughters Colleen (David) McClure of Benton, Arkansas and Linda (Don) White of Montgomery, Alabama; one brother and five sisters, Fred J. (Irene) Kauffeld and Sue (James) Duff, both of Clarksville, Arkansas; Freda Willett of Tampa, Florida, Wanda (Joe) Shivley of Fremont, Indiana, Anna Kauffeld of Kingman, Arizona and Sylvia Kinnear of Green Cove Springs, Florida; eight grandchildren, Regina George, Joshua White of Montgomery, Alabama, Cyndie (Ralph) Coulter of Wichita Falls, Texas, Amber Kauffeld and Staci Kauffeld of Beebe, Arkansas, Brian Vines of Denver, Colorado, Misty Gudino of Germany, Allen McClure of Benton and nine great-grandchildren. The funeral service will be at Hardwicke Funeral Home in Clarksville, Arkansas at 2 p.m. on March 12, 2011 with Brother James Stapleton and Brother Loren Collins officiating. Burial will be at Oakland Cemetery in Clarksville, Arkansas. The family will be receiving visitors from 12:30 p.m. until 2 p.m. on March 12, 2011 at the funeral home.
