Larry Wood Sr.

LARRY WAYNE WOOD SR., 61, of Mabelvale went home to be with the Lord on Thursday, March 10, 2011. He was born Sept. 3, 1949 in Tulare, Calif. After serving for 20 years in the Air Force, he retired at the rank of Master Sargent and then worked at the Red Cross for 13 years before retiring. He was a member of the Sardis United Methodist Church. He was preceded in death by his parents, Clarence and Mildred; sister, Linda; brother, Gene; and one grandson, Alexander. Larry is survived by his wife, Judy Wood of Mabelvale; daughter and son-in-law, Cindi and Donny Wise of Bauxite; son, Larry Wayne Wood II of Conway; son, Corey M. Helton of North Little Rock; and daughter and son-in-law Alysha and Shane M. O'Cain of North Little Rock. He is also survived by three brothers, Bobby, Steven, and Bruce; three sisters, Karleen, Carol, and Terry, and eight grandchildren: Gavin, Rebecca, Ashleigh, Diana, Alayna, Rachel, Joshua, and Caleb. Visitation will be held at Ashby's Funeral Home in Benton on Monday, March 14 from 6-8 p.m. . Funeral services will be held on Tuesday, March 15, at 2 p.m. at the Sardis United Methodist Church in Bauxite with Pastor Jeff Jones and Pastor Rick Porter officiating.
