Noel D. Burchfield

Noel D. Burchfield, 81, of Cabot died Friday, March 11, 2011. He was born July 7, 1929 in Dermott to the late Charles Walter and Livie Mae Whitehurst Burchfield. Mr. Burchfield served his country in the United States Army's 82nd Airborne Division during the end of World War II. He was a member of Mount Carmel Baptist Church and worked 37 1/2 years as a Railroad Engineer. He had a passion for and was an expert outdoorsman who enjoyed hunting. He truly appreciated God's creations and loved life and his family. In addition to his parents, Mr. Burchfield was preceded in death by five brothers. Mr. Burchfield is survived by his wife, Joann Adams Burchfield and their son, Mike Burchfield, both of Cabot; his brothers, Arnold Burchfield of Wynne, Billy Burchfield of Denim Springs, La. and Archie Burchfield of Crossett and his sister, Patsy Case of Arkansas City as well as his granddaughters; Katie and Lane Burchfield, both of Cabot. A graveside service will be 10 a.m., Tuesday, March 15, 2011 at Mount Carmel Cemetery with Brother David Mitchell officiating. Visitation will be from 6 to 8 p.m., Monday at Moore's Cabot Funeral Home (501)843-5816.
