Oscar Cooper Barner

Oscar Cooper Barner, 59, of Little Rock, passed away on Monday, March 14, 2011 at 8:30 a.m. Born on July 1, 1951 in Searcy, Ark. Oscar was the son of Elizabeth Hall Barner and the late Leslie Earl Barner of Clinton, Ark. Oscar was affiliated with the Sugarloaf First Baptist Church of Higdon, Ark., and served in the United States Air Force (E-5) as a law enforcement specialist from 1971-1975. Oscar is survived by his mother, Elizabeth Hall Barner of Clinton; a sister, Katherine Jackson Cuffell of Clinton; a niece, Terri Jackson Dutton of Benton, Ark.; a son, Cooper Crittenden Barner and a daughter, Currie Katherine Barner of Tyler, Texas, Memorial services will be held at 1 p.m. on Friday at Church of Rick Creek, 11500 W. 36th St., Little Rock. Services will be conducted by Pastor Dan Brown from Sugarloaf First Baptist Church. The family requests that in lieu of flowers, memorials be sent to the American Cancer Society.
