Charles L. Langley

Charles Lavern Langley, age 74, of Hamburg, Ark. passed away on March 16, 2011 at Ashley County Medical Center. He was born on April 5, 1936 in Hot Springs, AR to his parents, Henry L. and Elizabeth Vurnal Hodges Langley. Mr. Langley graduated from Magnolia High School in 1955 and had been a Lab Tech for Georgia Pacific. He enjoyed fishing and camping. Mr. Langley was a member of Gardner Baptist Church of Hamburg. He was a teacher of the Bible and ministered the Gospel of Christ to others. Mr. Langley was preceded in death by his parents; a sister, Dovie Laggett and two brothers, R.C. and Odell Langley. Survivors include: his wife, Hazel Dean Langley of Hamburg, Ark.; one son, Steve Langley of Parker, Colo.; one daughter, Wendy Ritchie of Russellville, Ark.; five grandchildren, Gavin Langley, Justin Langley, Stephen Langley, Chad Harris, Kara Ritchie and two great-grandchildren, Jason Ritchie and Jordan Langley. Funeral services will be held at 3 p.m., Saturday, March 19, 2011 at Jones Funeral Home Chapel with Bro. Jim Taylor officiating. Interment will follow at Unity Cemetery under the direction of Jones Funeral Home of Crossett, Ark. (www.jonesservice.com). Visitation will be held from 5 p.m. until 8 p.m., Friday at the funeral home.
