Emma Dean Richards

EMMA DEAN RICHARDS, 86, of Little Rock, Ark. passed away March 18, 2011 at her home. She was born March 31, 1924 in Saltillo, Ark. to James Otis and Ruth Johnson Heffington and attended the Oak Bowery Church in Saltillo as a child. She is preceded in death by her parents; brothers, Chester, Otis and James Heffington and a son-in-law, Wayne Christian. Survivors include her loving husband of 64 years, Raymond; daughter, Barbara (Bill) Lemmer of Little Rock; grandson, Brent (Tammy) Christian of Vilonia; sisters, Mary (Eddie) Rossomanno of St. Louis, Mo., Nelda (Bob) Grissom of Conway; brother, David Heffington of Conway; many loving nieces and nephews as well as many friends and garage sale junkies. She was a member of Pike Avenue Civic Club, Diamond State Grandmother's Club and the Jacksonville Razorback Club. Special thanks to Dr. Raymond Edwards, Dr. Alex Orsini and Janice for the love and support all these years, Baptist Hospice for their love and kindness, April for her support and Polly who was our rock and loved Mother dearly. Visiting Angels gave us an angel, her name is Christy. She helped keep mother's spirits up and helped the family so very much. Mother was our rock. She made sure we grew into fine adults but we will never be as special as she was. Her passion was garage sales, If heaven has garage sales we know she will be the first in line.
