James B. "Jim" Weyres

JAMES B. "JIM" WEYRES, 77, of Little Rock, passed away after a sudden illness in Dallas, Texas on Friday, Feb. 25, 2011. Born in Racine on March 3, 1933, he was the son of Joseph and Gertrude (nee: Mueller) Weyres. He attended St. George School, St. Catherine's High School, University of Wisconsin-Madison, University of Illinois-Champaign/Urbana and University of Oklahoma in Norman. For many years, Jim was employed as a Mechanical Engineer in the aerospace industry in Texas, California, Illinois, and Oklahoma. Later, he was Associate Professor of Engineering Technology at University of Arkansas in Little Rock, retiring after 26 years in 1995. Jim had an interest in aviation; he was a licensed pilot, owned a plane, and belonged to several airplane clubs over the years including the Commemorative Air Force and the EAA. Jim was also active in various engineering societies and alumni organizations, as well as the NRA and MENSA. Jim is survived by his sister, Beverley Reidenbach; 10 nieces and nephews; and many other friends and relatives. A Mass of Christian Burial will be held March 30, 2011 at St. Elizabeth Catholic Church, 4804 7th Ave., Kenosha, Wis. Interment to follow at St. George Cemetery.
