Mary Elizabeth McGetrick

Mary Elizabeth McGetrick, 93, of Springdale, died March 20, 2011 at Hindsville. She was born July 17, 1917 in Judsonia, Arkansas to Robert Martin and Nellie Mae Von Berg Porter. Mary was a Professor of Social Work at the University of Arkansas in Fayetteville for twenty years. She was a member of the St. Raphael's Catholic Church in Springdale. She was preceded in death by her husband James P. McGetrick. Survivors include three sons, Patrick McGetrick and wife Christie of Little Rock, Joseph McGetrick and wife Dee Ann of Springdale and Thomas McGetrick of Hindsville; one daughter, Ann Dalton and husband Ron of St. Paul; one brother, William Porter of Springdale; seven grandchildren and five great-grandchildren. Mass of Christian Burial will be Friday, March 25, at 10 a.m. at St. Raphael's Catholic Church in Springdale. Burial will be in the Bluff Cemetery.
