Freddy Thomas King

Freddy Thomas King Sr., died the evening of March 27th, 2011, after an almost four year fight against cancer. Friends and family were at his side during his passing. He is survived by his beloved wife of 44 years, Dale King; three sons, Freddy King, Jr., Raymond King, and Marcel King; four grandchildren, Cherie King, Carrington King, Ashley King and Anna Catherine King; two great-grandchildren, LaShae King and Johnny Nevils; his mother, Emilene King of Velvet Ridge; and two sisters, Barbara Capps and Freida King. Mr. King was both a devoted father and husband. The outdoors was a major part of his life and he sincerely enjoyed fishing, hunting and anything to do with the outdoors with his family and friends. He loved working on race cars and thoroughly enjoyed watching his son, Raymond King, race of Friday and Saturday nights in Batesville. He enjoyed the simpler things in life like growing a garden, afternoons watching the river slowly fade past his cabin, and his grandchildren playing in the back yard. Visitation will be on Tuesday, from 6-8 p.m. at the Powell Funeral Home of Searcy. Funeral services will be at 1 p.m. on Wednesday at the funeral home chapel.
