Margie Ruth Haney passed away Sunday, Nov. 6, 2011 at her daughters home surrounded by her family. Margie was born Jan. 18, 1923 to the late Albert and Pearl Ellison. Born and raised in Birta, Ark., where she received her education. During World War II, she was a telephone switchboard supervisor, ensuring that calls were sent to the soldiers from their loved ones. After the war she married John Donald Haney in 1945 until his death in 1988. They raised two children, Donald and Marcia. Margie also worked in daycares teaching young children to read and be kind to others. Alpha School and Lots of Tots is where she had precious memories. Margie loved God, loved her church family, and especially her children and her grandchildren, and she will be greatly missed. Margie is survived by her two children, Marcia (Carroll) Rogers of Gifford and Donald (Beverly) Haney of Hot Springs; three grandchildren, Kevin (Deann) Rogers, Keith (Tina) Rogers and Shannon (Bryan) Launuis; six great-grandchildren, Zane and Hallie Rogers, Lauren and Jarred Rogers, Savannah Sipes, and Ranen Blasingame. Also numerous nieces and nephews and her beloved cats Jack and Jill. Visitation will be held Monday, Nov. 7, at Regency Funeral Home from 6-8 p.m. Funeral service will be Tuesday, Nov. 8, at 10 a.m. in the Regency Chapel with Bro. Dennis McClintic officiating. Burial will be in Rockport Memorial Gardens. Pallbearers will be Carroll Rogers, Kevin Rogers, Keith Rogers, Henry Walker, Donald Haney and Bryan Launuis. Honorary pallbearers are the Dominoe Girls of Glen Rose Baptist Church, Pat Witherspoon, Phyllis Bearden, Linda Godwin, Cora Lowe, Martha Rice, Kathy Hines and Eddie and Misty Villas.
