BERRY DELMON JOHNSON, 70, of Little Rock, passed away Thursday, Sept. 29, 2011. He was born May 17, 1941, in El Dorado, Ark., to the late Delmon and Marie Embery Johnson. He graduated valedictorian in 1959 from Strong High School and worked for Prescolite Manufacturing of El Dorado and then moved to San Leandro, Calif., in 1961. He went to work for Arkansas State Revenue Department in Little Rock in 1970, where he retired in 2007. Berry was a member of MENSA, loved wolves, golf, pool, poker, and his family. He is survived by his wife, Elizabeth M. Shumaker Johnson, of Little Rock, whom he married in 1965; children, Melanie Johnson-Moxley and husband, David, of Columbia, Mo., Brent Johnson, of Little Rock, and Christopher Johnson, of Sherwood; granddaughter, Stacey Nichole Johnson, of Maumelle; brother, Bruce Johnson and wife Janet, of Van Buren; and two sisters, Agnes Johnson-Webb and husband, Wesley, and Betty Johnson-Sturdivant, of El Dorado. He was preceded in death by his granddaughter, Kristen Taylor Johnson. Funeral services will be held 2 p.m., Tuesday, in the North Little Rock Funeral Home Chapel. Burial will be in Arkansas Memorial Gardens. The family will receive friends from 6 to 8 p.m., Monday, at the funeral home, 1921 Main St., 758-1170.
