LOUIS E. "ED" THOMPSON, 91, of Little Rock, passed away Wednesday, Sept. 28, 2011. He was born to the late Charles and Lola Morphis Thompson on May 7, 1920, in Pottsville, Ark. He was a member of Primrose United Methodist Church, the Iron Springs Masonic Lodge #342, a United States Navy Sea Bee during World War II and retired from Missouri Pacific Railroad after 40 years. He is survived by his wife of 70 years, Eula Rackley Thompson, of Little Rock; two sons, Richard Thompson and wife, Carol, of Van Buren and Patrick Thompson and wife, Nell Doyle, of Norfork; seven grandchildren; 15 great-grandchildren; and three great-great-grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his son, Wayne Thompson; two brothers, M.C. and Dwain Thompson. Funeral services will be held 2 p.m. Monday, at Primrose United Methodist Church, 3006 W. Dixon Road, Little Rock. Burial will be in Primrose Cemetery. The family will receive friends from 2 to 4 p.m., Sunday, at North Little Rock Funeral Home, 1921 Main St., 758-1170.
