Dennis "Sonny" Stone

Dennis D. "Sonny" Stone, age 74, of Pine Bluff, loving husband, father, father-in-law, and grandfather, passed away Saturday, Oct. 1, 2011. He was born Dec. 14, 1936 at Sarepta (Webster Parish), La., the son of Guy Edwards and Bessie Lee Dean Edwards, and Arthur Stone. He served in the United States Army from 1956-1959. He began working for International Paper Company in August 1959 as a paper maker. He retired on Jan. 1, 1998 after 39 years of service. He was a member of the 28th Street Church of Christ, and was predeceased by his mother, Bessie Lee Dean Edwards; his father, Arthur Stone; and a brother, Donald Stone. Sonny's life centered around his family and friends. He enjoyed so much attending his grandchildren's activities, and loved them more than life itself. He also loved his time with friends and family hunting and fishing at Jack's Bay in the White River Refuge. He could tell stories on everyone for days. Sonny's survivors include his loving and dedicated wife of 51 years, Patsy Billings Stone, whom he married on March 26, 1960 at Pine Bluff; his son, Vince Stone and his wife Tracie of White Hall; his step-father, Guy Edwards of Springhill, La.; his two grandchildren, Cameron Stone and Hannah Stone of White Hall; an aunt, Doris Gosdin of Sarepta, La.; along with a host of relatives, friends, and his church family, all of whom he loved dearly. Funeral services will be Tuesday, 10 a.m. at the 28th Street Church of Christ with Minister Clarence Fell officiating. Interment will be in Ramick Cemetery by Fuller Hale-South Funeral Services.
