Richard Andrew Henderson

Richard Andrew Henderson, 69, of Cabot passed away Saturday, Oct. 1, 2011. He was born Nov. 25, 1941 in North Little Rock to Noble A. Henderson and Melba Henderson. He was preceded in death by his father Noble A. Henderson. Richard was a 1959 graduate of North Little Rock High School, and received his B.A. in marketing from the University of Arkansas at Fayetteville. He served in the U.S. Army from 1959-1963. He worked for more than 30 years with the state of Arkansas, most recently in the Department of Human Services where he retired. Richard spent his years in retirement pursuing hobbies in art and writing, and was a fan of horse racing at Oaklawn Park in Hot Springs. He is survived by his son, Andrew Henderson of Cabot; step-daughter, Kathleen M. Wieneke and her husband Deryl of Cabot; a granddaughter Shea A. Kinney and her husband Chris; a grandson, Taylor A. Wieneke of Cabot; his mother Melba Lowrance of Horseshoe Bend; and a sister Martha Dawn King of Missouri. Visitation will be from 6 p.m. until 8 p.m. Monday, Oct. 3, 2011 at the funeral home. Funeral services will be 2 p.m. Tuesday, Oct. 4, 2011 at Moore's Jacksonville Funeral Home. Interment will follow in Chapel Hill Memorial Park. In lieu of flowers the family wishes that memorials may be made to the American Diabetic Association, American Heart Association, American Kidney Foundation, and the Veterans Association.
