Richard L. Adair, Jr., 72, Little Rock, passed away Sunday, October 9, 2011. He was born October 10, 1938 to the late Richard Adair, Sr. and Elizabeth Goodwin Adair Sherlin of Little Rock. He was a former Army Reservist, enjoyed spending early mornings and quiet evenings in a deer stand, fishing, gathering with his classmates from the Central High School Class of 1956, a former owner of Kerr McGee Service Station in Jacksonville, owner of Jacksonville Paint and Wallpaper, in the Real Estate business, and served as an Alderman from 1973-1974 on the Jacksonville City Council. He is preceded in death by his brothers, Ronnie and Randy Adair; and his son Cary's mother, Debbie Adair. He is survived by his sisters, Jayne West and Deanna (Ed) Etheridge; and one brother Spencer (Loren) Adair. He had three sons, Jeff and Sandra Adair, Greg and Karla Adair, and Cary and Jessica Adair. He had one daughter, Lisa and Jeff Wood. He had 15 grandchildren, Steven (Katie) Adair, Daniel Adair, Amanda (Blake) Lewis, Todd (Allison) Singleton, Rodney (Ashley) Singleton, Tori (Greg) Crumpton, Chuck Adair, Emily Adair, Christy (Tyler) Greer, Sydney Omar, Dylan Wood, Amanda Robertson, David Wood, Hayleigh Adair, and Dani Adair. He also had 15 great-grandchildren who knew him as Peepaw. He is also survived by Jeff, Greg, and Lisa's mother, Kathleen Regnier. During his lifetime, he had a very special friend who he dearly loved, Martha Hardin. A special thanks to the caring staff of Malvern Nursing Home. Visitation will be from 5-7 p.m. on Tuesday, October 11, 2011 at Arkansas Funeral Care in Jacksonville. Funeral service will be at 1 p.m. on Wednesday, October 12, 2011 at Arkansas Funeral Care.
