Clifton Duwayne Merritt

Duwayne Merritt, 69, Star City, Ark., departed this life Oct. 28, 2011, at his home. A farmer and employee of Hall Custom Application, Duwayne was a member of The Hopedale Missionary Baptist Church and was born in the Jefferson Community (Desha County), Arkansas to the late Tom and Wilma Scifres Merritt. He is survived by his loving wife Grace McDaniel Merritt, Star City, Ark. Two sons, Greg Merritt, Star City, Ark., and Doug Merritt, North Little Rock, Ark., and J.J. Hall who was like a son to Duwayne; a sister, Twila Swick, Ridgedale, Mo.; five grandchildren; and one great-grandchild. Visitation, Sunday, Oct. 30, 2011, 4 - 6 p.m., at the funeral home; services, Monday, Oct. 31, 2011, 2 p.m., Griffin Funeral Home Chapel, with Rev. C.E.
