ELSIE MAE BEARD BLACK, of Little Rock, Ark., departed this life peacefully on Oct. 25, 2011. Her loving survivors include her husband of 56 years, Lloyd W. Black; daughter, Deborah Black Mitchell; granddaughter, Miranda Mitchell; brothers, James Beard, of Cleveland, Ohio, and Sylvester Beard, of Milwaukee, Wis.; sisters, Ruth Beard Brown, of Cleveland, Ohio, and Frankie Beard Hines, of Camden, Ark.; several nieces, nephews, cousins, and friends. A celebration of her life will be held on Tuesday, Nov. 1, 2011, 10:30 a.m., at Second Baptist Church, 1709 Barrow Road, Little Rock, Ark. Interment will follow at Arkansas State Veterans Cemetery, 1501 Maryland Ave., North Little Rock, Ark. Family visitation will be on Monday, Oct. 31, 2011, 5 - 6 p.m., at Ruffin & Jarrett Funeral Home, 1200 South Chester St., Little Rock, Ark., 501-372-1305.
