Gracia Louise Persson

Gracia Louise Persson, 90, entered into "the joy of her Lord" on Sunday, September 4, 2011. Born into a Welsh immigrant family in a Chicago north side tenement on July 6, 1921, Gracia's true purpose was established when, as a teenager, she was "born again" by God's Spirit. She demonstrated this devotion to Christ by 61 years of faithfulness to her husband Roy, and her commitment to staying at home to raise her eight children to love her Lord. Her inheritance was her children. She never failed to pray that they and their children would "serve the Lord." She believed the statement of scripture: "Children are an inheritance from the Lord." Her memory will be celebrated as a community on Thursday, September 8 with Visitation at 2:30 p.m. and Funeral Service at 3 p.m., both at Arkansas Funeral Care in Jacksonville.
