Nellie Mae (Crenshaw) Freppon, 94, of Bald Knob, died Sunday, September 4, 2011. She was born May 20, 1917 in Bald Knob a daughter of the late W.C. and Laura Overstreet Crenshaw. She was a homemaker and a member of the St. Richards Catholic Church in Bald Knob. Her love of children and her dream of a huge family were fulfilled through her teaching experience at the old Rocky Point School, being foster parent of over 150 children as well as the large family she and Phillip created. Her influence and love is far-reaching into the lives of those she touched. She is survived by her son, David W. Freppon (Jeannie) of Bald Knob; daughters, Carol Anne Richardson (Ross) of Camarillo, California, Judy Muckelberg (Terry) of Bald Knob, Brenda Brown (Jim) of Poplar Bluff, Missouri, Margaret Razian Davis (Bill) of Concord, Tamera Ray (Kevin) of Bald Knob, Regina Deen (Greg) of Ft. Smith and Sylvia Sagraves (Eric) of Conway; 29 grandchildren, 52 great-grandchildren and two great-great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her parents, her husband of 72 years, Phillip W. Freppon, 10 siblings and two children. Rosary will be said Wednesday at 6 p.m. at the St. Richards Catholic Church in Bald Knob. Visitation will then follow from 7-8 p.m. Funeral Mass will be on Thursday at 11 a.m. at the Powell Funeral Home Chapel.
