Norman Morris "Norm" Floyd of Little Rock died September 5, 2011. He was born August 6, 1948 to John Hugh and Virginia Morris Floyd in Paris, Tennessee. Norm passed after a long battle with COPD. Norm was employed for many years as a telecommunications engineer (telephone) mainly with P & H Electronics in Memphis and N & D Technical Services in Little Rock. One of his passions was automotive sports. He was a member of the Sports Car Club of America (SCCA) for 35 years, participating in solo, rally and club racing. As a worker in club racing, he started as a flagger and progressed to steward. Another passion was travel; he made several trips to Colorado and Arizona during his working years, but after retirement he made many motor home trips to many parts of the United States. He also discovered cruising. Recent cruises included the Mediterranean, Trans-Atlantic, Australia, and circumnavigation of South America. He is survived by his wife, Janet Berry. Visitation followed by a brief prayer service will be from 4 p.m. until 6 p.m. Thursday in the chapel of Griffin Leggett Healey & Roth, 5800 W. 12th, Little Rock (501) 661-9111. Casual attire is welcome. Another visitation will be Saturday from 12 noon until 1 p.m. at Ridgeway Funeral Home, 201 Dunlap St., Paris, Tenn. (731) 642-2121 with a graveside service following at 1:30 p.m. at Mapelwood Cemetery in Paris. Memorials may be made to one's favorite charity.
