Robert Morris White, age 87, of Stuttgart, Arkansas passed away September 2, 2011. Born in Carlisle, Arkansas on January 25, 1924, he was the son of George Mann and Irene Rochelle White. A World War II and Korean War Veteran, he served with the Army Air Force during World War II in the China-Burma-India offensive. He married Joy Wilson in 1947, they enjoyed 64 years together. He graduated from the University of Arkansas in 1950. Bob was a manager of the Comet Rice, Rough Rice Division for Arkansas, Louisiana, and Mississippi. The foundations of his life were family, country, and God. Kindness, respectfulness, thoughtfulness all described this man, he was truly a gentlemen. Bob was preceded in death by his parents; brothers, Carroll, JW, Junior; and sister, Juanita Stevenson. Survivors include his wife Joy, his sister Melva Smithwick, his two daughters Kay (Nelson White) and Vicki (Larry Davis), five grandchildren and nine great-grandchildren. A memorial service will be held Friday, September 9, 2011, at 10:30 a.m. at the First United Methodist Church in Stuttgart at Fourth and Leslie. Memorials may be made to the First United Methodist Church or the Museum of the Arkansas Grand Prairie.
