Janet Delores Klein Hiegel, 60, of Conway, Ark. passed away Saturday, Sept. 17, 2011 at Baptist Medical Center after a hard fought battle against complications stemming from cancer. She was born March 8, 1951 in Memphis, Tenn. She was a former Director of St. Joseph After School Care for 14 years, and a small business owner. Survivors include the love of her life and husband of 40 years, Philip Hiegel. Her children, Jennifer & Eric Shelden of Conway; Matthew & Amber Hiegel of Damascus; Laura & Jody Williams of Conway; Kathleen & Jason Gueringer of Conway; Pamela & Brian Cossey of Greenbrier; Tommy & Sarah Hiegel of Conway; Gregory Hiegel of Houston, Texas; Anna & Jared Welch of Quitman; and 11 grandchildren: Nick, Caleb, Triple, Luke, Jacob, Olivia, Isaac, Cecilia, Ellie, Madelyn and Owen. Her brothers and sisters, Kitty & Philip Cox of Memphis Tenn.; Edward G & Linda Klein Jr. of Jackson, Miss.; Theresa & Bob Gray of Hernando, Miss.; Dinah & Rick Farrell of Olive Branch, Miss.; Danny & Rita Klein of Horn Lake, Miss.; John & Leslie Klein of Longwood, Fla.; Jeannie Nester of Southaven, Miss. She was preceded in death by her parents, the late Edward George and Ida Klein Sr., of Memphis, Tenn., and an infant daughter, Melissa Hiegel. Our wonderful wife, mother, and grandmother meant everything to us and us to her. Her best times were spent with her family camping, watching movies at an outdoor cinema, or reading books and completing puzzles with her grandkids. She was a member of St. Joseph Catholic Church and Christian Ladies Organization, as well as an avid fan of whatever sports team her children and grandchildren played on. She will be greatly missed and remembered as the wonderfully beautiful person she was every day until we meet her again. Visitation will be held at 6 p.m. with a Rosary following at 7 p.m. at St. Joseph Catholic Church on Monday, Sept. 19. The Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 10 a.m. Tuesday, Sept. 20, at St. Joseph Catholic Church with the burial taking place in the St. Joseph Cemetery under the direction of the Roller-McNutt Funeral Home of Conway (501)327-7727.
