Myrtle Anna Brown Beasley, of Warren, Ark., went to be with her Lord and a host of her previously departed family and friends on Sunday, Sept. 25, at the age of 94. A life long resident of Bradley County, she was born on May 5, 1917, in the Corinth Community near Warren to the late Oscar and Ruth Barker Brown. Despite losing her father when she was only 18 months old and truly experiencing the hardships of life at an early age, she was blessed with a determined, steadfast mother who instilled within her the desire to excel in all that she did. She graduated from Warren High School as valedictorian of her class but immediately began working for Judge D. A. Bradham and later for Warren Cotton Oil Company to help support her widowed mother. Although she was not fortunate enough to continue her education, a multitude of people benefited from her gifted ability to write or speak words of wisdom, comfort or even humor when needed. On June 26, 1937, she married I.D. Beasley Jr. and became his companion in life and business for 62 years. Since I.D. was a natural born business man, they attempted various business interests during their marriage. Throughout these ventures, she was his invaluable helpmate. In 1956, they established Beasley's Used Cars and Wrecking Yard where they worked together until they retired in 1980. She also worked for the Southern Lumber Company for a time recording deeds by hand in their records. She was a long-time member of the First Assembly of God Church in Warren where she faithfully ministered in many areas including teaching Sunday School classes for over 40 years. For many years, she also conducted weekly services on behalf of First Assembly at the local nursing homes. Ms. Myrtle, as she was fondly called by many, was a living illustration of the virtuous woman of Proverbs 31. She was a blessing and strength to her husband, a loving teacher and caregiver to her children, a friend to her community, and a faithful servant to her Lord. She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband, I.D.; her young son, Johnny; her only brother, Clifton Brown; and her son-in-law Bill Flurry. She is survived by her two daughters, Marilyn Flurry of Cumming, Ga., and Mattie Ruth Tipton and her husband Jerry of Sherwood, Ark.; two grandsons, Jason Flurry and Natalie of Canton, Ga., and Denny Tipton and Jennifer of Sherwood, Ark.; four great-grandsons and two great-granddaughters. Visitation will be 6-8 p.m. Tuesday, Sept. 27, and funeral services will be 10 a.m. Wednesday, Sept. 28, at Frazer's Funeral Home in Warren. Burial will follow in the Oakland Cemetery in Warren. Online guest register www.frazerfuneralhome.com. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to the Building Fund of the First Assembly of God Church, P.O. Box 30, Warren, Ark., 71671.
